The Arena is the place where players face each other in a battle where the last man standing wins. Its currently the only PvP but also the most competitive game mode in Hero of Taslinia. In this guide we will explain some of the basic aspects of the Arena and give a few tips to help players climb the leaderboards and claim those precious rewards!
Introduction
Like all the game modes of Hero of Taslinia, in Arena a player can use a team of up to 4 Heroes to fight against a team of 4 as well. A player can use a Hero of the same class more than once if he wants to or even use an Ally on his team. A player must also form a Defense Team that will auto fight the attacking players. Each player can attack up to 10 times per day, 11 if he is a VIP and 12 if he is VVIP. Each player before joining a battle has to choose between 3 opponents where each one gives or costs different arena points depending on the result of the battle.
The goal is to win as many battles is possible so you can get more arena points and at the end of the season reach the highest possible arena ranking. Depending on how many points a player has at the end of the season he will be placed into a rewards tier and if he manages to finish in a position among the first 100 players then there are additional rewards. You can find the rewards with more details in the “Tier Rewards” section in the Arena.
Battle
The Arena battle is completely different from all the other game modes when it comes to battle tactics. Your goal here is to be the last man standing and even one Hero can make the difference since many aspects can be crucial for the outcome of each battle. The first thing a player has to decide is which 4 Heroes he is going to use. You won’t find a team that doesn’t have 1 tank and 1 healer, so your first 2 spots are reserved for Lance and Wand. For the other 2 spots there are a lot of things to consider before choosing which Heroes you are going to use. As long as you are battling and winning you will be climbing the ranks and with that greater player will be among your enemies so you will have to adapt to what Heroes you are facing at each point. For example, at the beginning you might notice that you are having a great winning ratio when using Bow and Staff as your 2 damage dealers but later when you face new players you might struggle and so you will have to be prepared to switch one of them for a Hero that might be a better counter to your current enemies. For that reason, you should always keep upgrading the 4 Heroes you will chose as your main team and also keep a 5th player as close to their power as possible so you can switch him in whenever its needed. Our recommendation is to use Sword on your team as one of your damage dealers and for the 4th spot probably Bow. Sword is one of the best Heroes in the Arena for many reasons. He is a Hero that can take a lot of damage before going down and even if he goes he has his “Survival Instinct” which will revive him immediately. Besides that, he can also deal a big amount of AoE damage and sometimes even wipe the whole enemy team with his ability “Bloodthirsty Storm”. Last but also very important reason is that Sword can be used perfectly to the most common and probably best formation right now. When you are choosing your team, you can move each Hero and place him in whatever slot you prefer. Right now, the ideal formation is to use 2 Heroes in front on each corner and 2 Heroes exactly behind them.
The reason is that there are plenty of abilities that affect adjacent targets so if you have many of your Heroes one next to each other then your team is more vulnerable to those. For example, if you use 3 of your Heroes on the back and each one of them next to each other, then if the enemy uses “Provoke” with his Lance then all 3 of them will be taunted and deal a very little damage on the next round. That’s why the ideal formation right now is the 2-2 and Sword’s defense and great survivability make him the best fit for the current “meta”. An alternative formation will be the use of 1 Hero in front which is your main tank and the other 3 of them in the back row. Like we mentioned this formation is vulnerable to “adjacent” abilities but has also its pros which is the fact that the back row can be attacked only by ranged abilities. The ideal tactic however, when it comes to formation is to always check your opponent’s formation and then adjust yours accordingly so you could counter it. You can see each player’s formation when you go to “Rank” section and then “Check” player.
The next tactic that will improve your winning ratio is to learn how to counter your enemy Heroes and abilities. Again, you will have to check each opponent you are facing and see the team he uses and their abilities. In the Arena you will have to face many abilities that cause debuffs or weaken your team like “Condemn”, “Judge”, “Isolate” etc. Learning how to counter those or preventing your enemy from using those is going to be the key to winning most of your battles since abilities like those can literally make your Heroes unable to do anything and you will be just a few rounds away from losing. Now, you checked up and know your enemy, you’ve set up your team and now its time to put your information into action. You should be able to understand which Hero is the highest threat for your team and as soon as the battle begins your main goal is to bring him down as fast as possible. Usually, the most focused Hero is Wand and that’s because he is the guy that will keep the team alive with its healing or even bring them back to life with “Resurrection”. The ideal thing here is to have your damage dealers focusing Wand and bringing him down and at the same time use your Wand to weaken the enemy’s damage dealers. Your tank in case you are using “Provoke” can either target their Wand in order to prevent him from healing or on one of the damage dealers to block him from killing one of your team members. There are multiple factors to consider for each battle and if your goal is to reach the top of the ranking ladder then you should pay attention to all of them. Of course, all those will not matter if your Heroes are under geared or not upgraded so never forget to keep on pushing and getting them to their max potential. What we could recommend when it comes to gearing and upgrading abilities is to get all your Heroes to Epic level 16 gear until you get that Legendary drop and always upgrade abilities that give Accuracy first. Heroes tend to miss lots of abilities especially on higher level or against strong opponents, so you want to upgrade your Heroes’ accuracy as fast as possible.
Crystal
Crystals are a great recent addition to the game. There are defensive Crystals that can buff your Heroes or offensive that debuff the enemy team. They can be purchased from the Arena shop and be upgraded into stronger ones. Since they are very valuable, they have a limit on how many you can use per battle and can decide the result of it, make sure to use them correctly and on enemies that you believe that you can win them.
Arena Shop
Here you can exchange your Arena points. Right now, you can purchase Enhance Stones, Regular Equipment Cards, Mystic Crystals and Arena Mystery Box. The recommended thing here is to spend your points buying the higher Rarity Enhance Stones and Mystic Crystals. If you find yourself having lots of Arena points you could buy the Arena Mystery Box too but it’s not really worth it and if you get into the top 10 you will get a good amount of those at the end of every season. In order to get as many points as possible, try to wins as many games you can every day, do all your arena entries and remember to claim the daily milestone of 3,6 and 10 arena battle attempts.
Additional Tips
Besides of what we mentioned above regarding tactics, builds etc there are few more recommendations we would like to give. One of the most important features on the game for PvP, is the “Spar”. When you go to “Rank” section and then “Check” a player you will see the “Spar” button which is a friendly battle. You can battle without any cost the players you want and test there all your buildings, abilities or whatever else you might want. It’s a great tool and a must use for a competitive player.
For the end we left the “Log” section. There you can see which player attacked you and the result of the battle. Always check those so you can see which players can win your team or not and based on that to make your adjustments.
Conclusion
Those were the most important things a player should know when it comes to Arena on Hero of Taslinia. Of course, there are plenty of tactics and builds that each player can apply to its team and try many different combinations until he finds what he likes. The important thing is to always do the maximum amounts of battles you have per day and try to make the most out of them not only when it comes to battle result but also to your assumptions and the knowledge you get from each of them.
