Introduction
When you reach the Island “Frostburg” in World Map and after clearing the level 4-6, the Ally named Noelle will appear and through a small tutorial will introduce you the Occupations. In this guide we will talk about Occupations and explain what they are, how you can unlock them and how to use them in the best way possible.
What Occupations are and how to unlock them
The feature of Occupations is known mostly as Classes and it’s the option to change your Heroes specialization and abilities. Each Hero has 3 different Occupations where each one of them has 4 different abilities. When you first unlock a Hero, he comes with his basic Occupation unlocked and in order to get the other 2 you have to unlock them buy using the item “Elven Manuscript”. For each occupation you want to unlock you will need 10 Elven Manuscripts and it takes some time to collect them. The first 10 Elven Manuscripts you will get are from Noelle on the tutorial mentioned above. She will appear and explain you how Occupations work and how to unlock them and then give you 10 Elven Manuscripts for free. Those first 10 must go to a Hero you will be using on your main team and, he has abilities you can unlock fast without having to level up your Weapon Mastery. A good example of this is the Hero “Staff”. When you first unlock him, he comes with the Occupation of “Elementalist” but some of his best abilities are into the “Pyromancer” Occupation. When you unlock it, you will have available the ability “Fire Whirl” which is one of the best and most used abilities in Hero of Taslinia and you can get it early because it doesn’t require a high “Weapon Mastery” level. Another good recommendation is the Occupation “Berserker” of “Sword” Hero and then go for his ability “Bloodthirsty Storm”.
On the tutorial Noelle will also explain you how you can get more of those Elven Manuscripts and one of the main ways is Sisyphus Tower. Every week you can buy up to 10 of them from the Sisyphus Shop so make sure you do all your entries daily and buy as much as possible each week. As a new player you probably won’t get all 10 of them in the first 1-3 weeks because your Sisyphus Tower level will be low and wont reward you that much. However, make sure you get as many of them you can but don’t worry if you can’t get them all since Occupations are helpful at the beginning only on specific classes that don’t require high Weapon Mastery Level. Besides Sisyphus Shop, you can also get Elven Manuscripts from World Boss that appears every Friday and Saturday so do as many as possible damage on him and try to claim all the 3 available chests. Few more ways to obtain those Manuscripts are from some specific Missions you will unlock on the last Islands; some Events might reward them and of course from the game Shop.
Occupations Combinations
By checking each Occupations abilities, you can understand what’s the specialty of it. For example, if you check Bow’s Hunter occupation and its abilities, you can clearly see that this is an Occupation that is based on poison and damage over time (DoT). However, most players don’t go with a build that is based only on one Occupation. They usually use the final and special ability of each Hero and then make a combination of the best moves between the 3 Occupations. Few things you need to keep in mind when choosing your basic Occupation is the “Master Talent” which depending on the Occupation you use as your basic, you will get the corresponding passive ability. Besides that, you will also need to keep in mind that if you want to have in your ability kit one of the first moves of each occupation then you must go with that because the first abilities can be used only if you have active the Occupation they belong to. Also, you are not allowed to use more than one of the first abilities and you can use any of the third abilities you want but only one of them as well. Now that we know all the important information and how they work let’s go and see some of the best combinations you can make with them that right now perform great in the game.
Bow AoE and Dot Build:
This build is based on doing damage over time to all the enemy team. You will need to have as your main Occupation the “Trapper” so you can get the passive ability “Hemorrhage” from the master talent. Then on your abilities you will use “Venom Rain” and “Poison Tips” from the Hunter Occupation and for your final ability you can choose “Blood Bath” from Trapper. This build is used by most Bow players right now and its great when you want to drain all the enemy team in a couple of rounds.
Staff full Damage Build
This build has it all when it comes to killing the enemy team. Huge damage, AoE, DoT and crowd control. You will have as your main Occupation the “Pyromancer” so you can get the “Pyromaniac” master talent that does damage over time but the main reason is so you can have the ability “Fire Whirl”. It does damage to all the enemy team and there is a 50% chance to cause them burn which is damage over time. Then from the Occupation of “Elementalist” you can go with the “Ice Prison” ability that causes single damage target and might freeze them and slow them too. Finally, you will need the special and final ability which is “Thunder Strike” that does huge damage to 2-4 targets.
Lance Auras Build
For Lance’s build we also recommend a mix between 2 Occupations. For you main Occupation you can go with Lancer, so you get the “Infuriate” master talent and “Overpower” aura ability. Then from “Paladin” you can take one more aura ability that is extremely helpful and it’s called “Blessed”. Finally, you will use “High and Mighty” which is again an aura ability and it’s the final and special one.
Skill Upgrading
Before we conclude our guide, we will give some tips when it comes to upgrading your skills. When you unlock your Occupation so you can get a specific ability you want to use, make sure that it will be the first to upgrade. Those abilities are going to be used on every game so to make the most out of them and have a stronger team always upgrade those first. When you are done with them then you should move to upgrading abilities that give you stats that are essential for your Hero. For example, Dagger lacks Accuracy so after upgrading his main abilities you will be using then you should start upgrading those that reward Accuracy. In case the ability doesn’t give anything special for you after getting the Accuracy increase then you can upgrade the ability up to that point and not till the end for now and then proceed with another one that might have something better to give you.
Conclusion
This is all we had for you about Occupations, and we hope that you can try our recommendations and see how you will perform but of course you should try your own combinations and find what best suits you and your playstyle. That is why it’s a lovely feature, because it gives players the opportunity to mix and test all kinds of abilities and have even more fun while playing the game.
